Commercial Solar Water Heating Systems, particularly those for apartment buildings and other multi-family housing, have been best-performing segment of the solar thermal market. Large rebates and tax breaks often give these types of projects excellent paybacks and a high return on investment.
This class will cover the basics of large-scale solar water heating systems and the factors involved in assessing a good location, choosing the appropriate system, and determining costs and financial return. We will have data and case studies for various kinds of systems, including multi-family units. This is an advanced class and students will need to know the fundamentals of solar water heating.
